John Lamont grew up outside of Rockford, IL in a small town of 12,000 people. But he always had big dreams of making a difference in the world.

John earned his first mechanical engineering degree, with honors, from the University of Louisville. Then John earned his Master’s in mechanical engineering, also from University of Louisville, with high honors. John’s master’s thesis was on vibration and noise analysis.

After college John had a successful career as an engineer and businessman with McDonnell Douglas, and Boeing. In the process, he also earned an MBA in Finance and International Business from the University of Missouri – St. Louis.

Then, in 1997, John decided to move to Arizona with Honeywell. However, he eventually decided to leave the corporate world to run his own air conditioning and heating (HVAC) business. But it would not be “just another” HVAC business. John had bigger ideas about consumer advocacy, and how to address inherent problems in the industry far beyond mechanical repairs.

John also received an award as one of the top 25 contractors in Arizona in 2006, and was president of the Kyrene Corridor Rotary Club.

John lives in Tempe, AZ with his wife, Lisa. They have four children and two grandchildren. In his spare time, John is a woodworking hobbyist and likes to develop new business concepts. Currently, John has two patents pending, including concepts that improve the HVAC customer experience.
